How to set it up
Ensure you have all the equipment and nothing is missing.
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the port on the back of the modem and the other end into the corresponding port on your PC.
Take the RJ11 cable and plug it into the port on the back of the modem and the other end into the DSL port on the micro filter.
Plug the micro filter into the telephone socket and finally plug the power adapter into the modem and a suitable power supply.
You will notice a power button next to the port for the power supply, press this and the lights on the modem should come on.
Next you you will need to open your browser e.g. Internet Explorer/Firefox, type in http://192.168.0.1 into the address bar and hit Enter. You should now see this page:
Enter admin in the User Name field and password in the Password field then click OK.
In the menu on the left side of the screen Click on ADSL settings.
Ensure that the connection type is set to PPPoA this will automatically change the multiplexing method to VC-MUX. The VPI should be set to 0 and the VCI to 38. Enter the Log in name and password supplied to you by IDNet then click Apply.
You will now need to reboot the router for the settings to take effect, click on Restart Now at the bottom left of the screen. Once rebooted it should automatically connect to the Internet.
You may need to configure your PC. To continue select your Operating System below:
- Vista
- XP
*Go to Control Panel and click on Network Connections.
Then right click on the Local Area Connection icon and click on Properties.
You will now see this page:
Right click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties and you should see the following window:
Ensure that both Obtain an IP address Automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected then click OK.
