Outlook Express
The following is a step by step guide in setting up email accounts in Outlook Express.
You will need the following:
- Email address
- Account name
- Password
Launch Outlook Express then click on Tools, Accounts.
Click on Add then Mail.
A Wizard will now start, enter your name as you wish recipients of your emails to see it the click Next.
Enter your email address in lower case with no spaces between characters then click Next.
Enter the server information for your account, this will vary depending on the type of account you have.
- @idnet.com Incoming server: pop3.idnet.com Outgoing server: smtp.idnet.com
- @idnetfreemail.co.uk Incoming server: pop3.idnet.net Outgoing server: smtp.idnet.net
- @idnet.co.uk Incoming server: pop3.idnet.net Outgoing Server: smtp.idnet.net
Once completed click Next.
Enter the account name and password for your email account, tick Remember my password, ensure Log on using Secure Password Authentication is unticked, then click Next
You have now entered everything you need to set up your email account. Click Finish.
Go to your Inbox and click Send/Receive if any emails are waiting for you they will now start downloading. If you get an error message stating user name and password are incorrect go back to Tools, Accounts, click on the Mail tab then properties then click on the Servers tab and retype your log in information. If there is no change contact the Support Team for assistance.
