Outlook
The following is a step-by-step guide in setting up your POP3 email account in Microsoft Outlook.
Before we go further you will need to have ready the following information:
- Your Email Address
- Your email Account Name
- Your email Account Password
Launch Outlook and click on Tools, E-mail Accounts.
Click on Add a new e-mail account then click Next.
Click on POP3 then click Next.
Work through each section entering your details as shown in the example below, Server information varies depending on the type of account you have.
- @idnet.com Incoming server: pop3.idnet.com Outgoing server: smtp.idnet.com
- @idnetfreemail.co.uk Incoming server: pop3.idnet.net Outgoing server: smtp.idnet.net
- @idnet.co.uk Incoming server: pop3.idnet.net Outgoing Server: smtp.idnet.net
Once you have completed each section click Next.
Click Finish then go to the Inbox and click Send/Receive, If you have emails waiting for you they should start downloading. If you get an error message stating the user name or password is incorrect go back through to Tools, Email Accounts then click on View/Change an existing email account and check that all your details are entered correctly and in lower case. If you there is no change after checking the settings contact the Support Team for further assistance.
